Questions worth answering.
Why do I need MCP Adapter?
MCP Adapter is WordPress's own official plugin, by the WordPress AI team. It is the MCP server ChatGPT and Claude talk to; AdMindra MCP adds the tools, the OAuth sign-in and the settings screen on top. You do not have to find it: AdMindra MCP shows a button, WordPress installs it on its own screen and brings you back.
Do I need an AdMindra account?
Not for AdMindra MCP: it is free, nothing is locked and it sends nothing to AdMindra. The add-on AdMindra MCP Maintenance, which lets the assistant run updates and fix files, needs a free AdMindra account.
Why are updates and file fixes an add-on?
WordPress.org counts an AI assistant that updates plugins or edits code as remote administration. So the plugin in the directory reads and edits content only, and the add-on that does the rest is downloaded inside AdMindra.
Can the assistant break my site?
AdMindra MCP never installs, updates, activates or deletes anything, writes files or touches users. Content edits are off until you switch them on, and every edit keeps a revision. With the add-on, every file change is syntax-checked and backed up encrypted, the site is checked before and after, and the change is rolled back by itself if the site stops answering.
What does the add-on send to AdMindra?
To pair: the code, the site's address and the versions. To ask what it may do: the site's id, the versions and the time, signed with the site's own key, at most every 12 hours and before a change when the last answer is older. It also downloads its own updates. Never file contents, page contents or users, and the assistant's requests never pass through AdMindra.
Which assistants can connect?
Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile), Claude Code and ChatGPT with connectors. Each one signs in on a consent screen that names it, only an administrator can approve it, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Does AdMindra Tidy Admin hide security warnings?
No. Errors, security alerts (firewall, malware, vulnerabilities, sign-in protection, recovery mode) and WordPress's own update messages stay at the top by default. Everything it folds is one click away, and nothing is dismissed for you.
What does AdMindra Tidy Admin send to AdMindra?
Nothing. It makes no external requests. The copies in each person's inbox are kept in your own WordPress database and removed when you delete the plugin.

AdMindra MCP replaces it (0.11.0 and earlier). Install AdMindra MCP, then deactivate and delete the old one; your settings carry over.
