A short admin menu with every plugin in one Apps launcher, light or dark mode, notices folded into an inbox, and cleaner lists.

== Description ==

Install the plugins a real site needs and the left menu of wp-admin grows to
three screens: SEO, forms, backups, security, cache, cookies, mail. What
you came for is somewhere in the middle, under half a screen of notices
asking you to rate, upgrade or subscribe.

AdMindra Tidy Admin keeps the left menu to what you use every day, and makes the
whole admin calmer to look at, in light or dark.

= A short menu, and every plugin one click away =

* **WordPress's own sections stay**: Dashboard, Posts, Media, Pages,
Comments, Appearance, Plugins, Users, Tools and Settings.
* **What you pinned stays.** WooCommerce and Products are pinned from the
start; pin anything else with one click.
* **Apps.** Every other plugin's menu is a grid of icons with search. Type
"seo" and Yoast's or Rank Math's pages are there; press Enter to open one.
* The plugin you are working in always shows in the menu while you are in
it, and a counter a plugin shows (updates, waiting forms) is added up on
Apps, so nothing is hidden from you.
* Plugins' buttons in the toolbar are gathered under one Apps menu too.

= Light, dark or automatic =

* Each person chooses, from the sun or moon at the top right: **Light**,
**Dark**, or **Automatic**, which follows the computer or phone and
  changes when it does.
* WordPress's own screens turn dark completely. A plugin's own page keeps
its own colours and only the menu and toolbar around it turn dark, so no
  plugin screen becomes unreadable.
* A dark page never flashes white while it loads.

= Notices folded into one line, with an inbox =

Every plugin can print a notice at the top of every admin screen: rate us,
upgrade to Pro, a sale, a tip you have seen a hundred times. Tidy Admin
folds them into one line:

*3 notices folded away · Notice inbox*

Click the line and they open right there, still working: their buttons,
links and dismiss crosses do what they always did. Or read them later in
**Dashboard → Notice inbox**, where each person has their own inbox.

What always stays at the top:

* **Errors**, **security alerts** (firewalls, malware, vulnerabilities,
two-factor, recovery mode) and **WordPress's own update messages**. An
administrator can change the first two in the inbox.
* **Anything you choose**, with "Always show at the top" on a notice.
* **What a screen says about your own action**, like "Settings saved.".
* **Anything that is not a notice**: scripts, styles and hidden containers.

Nothing is dismissed for you. A folded notice is still printed on the page,
so turning the inbox off brings every notice back exactly as it was.

= Cleaner lists =

All pages, Posts, Products, Users, Comments and Plugins become calm cards:
views as pills, a soft header, rows that light up under the pointer, the
title in bold, and "Draft" or "Front page" as a quiet label instead of a
dash. Nothing is hidden and no column moves.

= A calmer look =

* A light (or dark) menu with rounded rows, rounded boxes and fields, quiet
buttons and one clear primary button.
* It is a colour scheme ("AdMindra") beside WordPress's own. Anybody who
picked a scheme of their own in their profile keeps it.

= Safe by design =

* **Nothing is removed from WordPress's menu.** Removing a menu entry can
make WordPress answer "Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page" on
that plugin's own pages. AdMindra Tidy Admin only adds a CSS class to the entries
it folds, so every page resolves exactly as before.
* **Without JavaScript the whole menu stays.**
* **Nothing about another plugin's own page is changed.** The look only
  touches what WordPress itself draws.
* **Deactivate it and everything is as before**: WordPress's own colour
scheme and the full menu, at once. Deleting it removes its settings.
* **Nothing leaves the site.** Nothing is sent anywhere: no remote request,
no account, no tracking, no fonts or images from elsewhere.

= Made by AdMindra =

AdMindra Tidy Admin is free and stays free. It is made by
[AdMindra](https://admindra.com/), a Swedish AI platform for advertising,
sales, websites and visibility. Its own Apps page ends with a short "More
from AdMindra" section with our other free tools (MindraNotes, AdMindra MCP,
AdMindra Turbo and more), and the Apps launcher lists the ones this site
does not have yet. Each person can hide it with one click. It is plain
links: nothing is loaded and nothing is sent until somebody clicks.

== Installation ==

1. Install AdMindra Tidy Admin from Plugins → Add New, or upload the zip.
2. Activate it. The menu is short at once; your plugins are under **Apps**.
3. Choose light, dark or automatic from the sun or moon at the top right.
4. Read folded notices under Dashboard → Notice inbox.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Where did my plugin's menu go? =

Click **Apps** at the top of the left menu, or search for it there. Hover a
tile and click the pin to keep it in the left menu.

= How do I switch between light and dark? =

Click the sun or moon at the top right of the toolbar, or open Apps and use
Light · Dark · Automatic at the top. Each person's choice is their own.

= Why is a plugin's page still light in dark mode? =

Plugins draw their own pages with their own colours, often white panels.
Turning those dark could leave text unreadable, so Tidy Admin keeps them as
the plugin made them and darkens only the menu and toolbar around them.

= Will it hide a warning that my site is broken or under attack? =

No, not by default. Errors, security alerts and WordPress's own update
messages stay at the top. A notice you need can be kept at the top with
"Always show at the top", in the folded line or in the inbox.

= I used AdMindra Notice Inbox. What happens now? =

The notice inbox is part of this plugin now. Your inbox and settings carry
over as they are. While the separate plugin is active it keeps working and
this one stays out of its way; deactivate and delete it when you like.

= For developers: can I keep my plugin's notice at the top? =

The filter `admni_fold_notice` decides whether a notice is folded:

`add_filter( 'admni_fold_notice', function ( $fold, $html, $id ) {
	return false !== strpos( $html, 'my-plugin-critical' ) ? false : $fold;
}, 10, 3 );`

= Can I turn parts of it off? =

Yes. Under Apps → Settings for this site an administrator can switch off the
grouping of the menu, the grouping of the toolbar and the new look, one at a
time. Folding notices is switched off under Dashboard → Notice inbox →
Settings for this site.

= Does Ctrl+K (⌘K) still work? =

Yes. WordPress's own command palette still finds every page, including the
ones folded into Apps.

= Does it work with WooCommerce, Elementor, Yoast and the rest? =

It is tested with WooCommerce, Elementor, Yoast SEO, Rank Math, Wordfence,
UpdraftPlus, WPForms, Contact Form 7, LiteSpeed Cache and others: every page
in the menu answers the same with it on as off.

= Is it translated? =

English and Swedish are included.
